Creating Goldie the Honey Bear (Day 1)

Creating Goldie has been an idea since February of 2011; I had gone to Furry Fiesta and my love for kig masks, as well as fur suits had been rekindled. Usually, these phases come and go - dressing up simply wasn’t for me until my gig as a the famous Chuck E. Cheese. I’m not sure when or how it happened, but my cosplay idol who I had been following since 2007 ( http://rabbitinthemoon.us/ ) opened up her arms and offered to help me make my first kig mask. We had been busy for the past few months, but an early Christmas present arrived to me when I daringly asked if she was ready to work on the mask - and she said yes. It was one of the greatest days I have had in a while, very productive, and very fun. We both left the day feeling successful (she’s only made a kig mask once, and this is my first time ever investing time into any cosplay ever).

I chose Goldie mostly because I had been going on and off about picking her, and through out the year when I would get inspired I would draw her head shape as if she was a mask. I brought a few ideas over when I went to Rabbit’s home, and she seemed very enthusiastic with Goldie. While she’s not really anything special to an anime con go-er, I think she’ll still be a blast to wear - especially because I have another friend who does cosplay Banjo Kazooie characters (in which, Goldie was inspired from) and we can horse around together. Rabbit even started going on about how she could make a evil twin sister for Goldie and we can be twins!!!

As we continue, I’ll go ahead and post more of our adventures in creating Goldie.
